Our Story

Norsemen was established in 1979 when David E. & Bonnie Steffens decided they wanted to start a family business so they could get their boys involved. They started their dream in Waseca, MN.

10 years later in 1989, Norsemen moved all of the operations to a new corporate office in Lake Mills, IA. The Waseca office turned into a dispatch office along with a shop for making repairs on equipment.

In 2002, David E. parked the truck for good and retired, selling Norsemen to his two boys: David A. & Jay Steffens. David A. owned Norsemen Trucking, which is now owned by True North Companies, while Jay still owns Norsemen Transportation, Specialized, & Express.

Jay’s dream was to get his two boys involved into the company also. Jordan has been with Norsemen since 2014 as a driver and now in a management role, and Jared joined the family business in June 2022 after leaving his career sales job at a Medical Device Company.

It is now our dream to continue working with the amazing people on our team, to grow, and to keep striving to provide excellent service for our customers, drivers, & agents.
